🎞️ Zion Animation Setup & Diagnostics
Overview · Version 1.1.0 · Unity 6 Editor Tool
Overview
Zion Animation Setup & Diagnostics 1.1 is a Unity 6 editor tool for finding, testing and organising character animations from multiple asset packs.
It searches selected folders as one combined library, ranks likely clips for the roles your character needs, checks them on your own Humanoid character and creates a clean curated library containing the approved source assets.
ZionTPS is optional. The workflow works with standard Unity Humanoid characters and Animator setups.
What's new in 1.1
Version 1.1 makes clip selection more complete and easier to inspect:
- Open a searchable browser containing every qualifying ranked match instead of being limited to a short dropdown.
- Use Search All Clips to choose any discovered non-Legacy clip when a pack uses unusual names or Zion has no confident suggestion.
- Search by clip name, source pack or asset path.
- See separate discovered, selectable and Legacy clip totals after scanning.
- Get clearer source-pack labels when one selected parent folder contains several child packs.
- Restore manually selected clips from saved profiles even when they are outside the ranked suggestions.
Manual selections still pass through the same compatibility tests and require visual approval. See What's New in 1.1 for the complete selection workflow.
Start here
- Read What's New in 1.1 if you are upgrading from 1.0.
- Read the Quick Start for the shortest route from installation to a tested library.
- Use the Full Tutorial when you want an explanation of every wizard step, status and output.
- Open Troubleshooting when a character twists, floats, fails to play or cannot continue.
What the guided workflow does
- Checks the target character, Animator and Humanoid Avatar.
- Searches one or more animation-pack folders together.
- Builds a checklist from Basic Movement, Third-Person, Combat or ZionTPS profiles.
- Ranks suitable clips, presents every qualifying match and lets you search all selectable clips.
- Tests approved clips for common rig, playback, grounding and movement problems.
- Copies approved source assets into a versioned curated library.
- Creates a one-character Clip Browser for final visual approval.
Important safety behaviour
- Purchased source packs are never deleted automatically.
- Search and diagnostics do not alter source FBXs.
- Generic-to-Humanoid conversion is attempted only on copied FBXs.
- Required roles affect completion; Recommended and Optional roles may remain missing.
- Automated measurements never replace visual testing on the target character.
Requirements
- Unity 6.
- A character model or prefab with a Unity Humanoid Avatar.
- One or more project folders containing animation FBXs or Animation Clips.
- A project backup or source-control checkpoint before creating a production library.

Scope and limitations
Zion diagnoses and organises animation assets. It does not create animations, edit animation curves, rewrite poses or automatically correct foot sliding. Final visual approval remains the developer's responsibility.
